About VCC

What is Valley christian counseling?

Valley Christian Counseling provides online therapy for teenage and adult individuals and couples in Kentucky. Valley Christian Counseling was started in January 2022 by Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, McKenna Fey. VCC was started in response to a need for more integration of spiritual values and psychotherapy skills. McKenna Fey recognizes how intertwined one’s emotional, mental, and spiritual components are, and she hopes VCC is a place that addresses all components as it is helpful for each client.

The Mission

Valley Christian Counseling seeks to provide quality therapy to people in the various valleys they are walking through. We believe helping someone in their healing journey means walking it with them. Our goal is to provide encouragement and support to individuals, couples, and families by integrating psychotherapy skills with spiritual values to meet emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.

Meet the Therapist

McKenna Fey has been a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate since 2020. I became a therapist because I have always felt a strong passion to walk with people through difficult seasons of life. I am trained in Emotionally-Focused Therapy. I also use techniques from narrative therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

In addition to therapy, I am a PhD student in Family Sciences at the University of Kentucky studying religiosity and couples’ relationships. In my free time, I love to read, embroider, hike, and teach myself to play the piano. I live in Lexington with my husband and cat in a house we recently remodeled.

“You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work."
