The Mission of Valley Christian Counseling

Valley Christian Counseling seeks to provide quality therapy to people in the various valleys they are walking through. We believe helping someone in their healing journey means walking it with them. Our goal is to provide encouragement and support to individuals, couples, and families by integrating psychotherapy skills with spiritual values to meet emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.

Couple and Marriage Therapy

Relationships can be messy. Each partner has their own thoughts and desires, which may come in conflict with the other. Arguments come up that make us feel alone, unloved, or unlovable.

I can help you and your partner understand underlying hurts and fears that creep into your relationship and help you deal with them together, head-on. I have a passion for helping build strong romantic relationships built on understanding, effective communication, and trust.

I pull from my training in emotionally focused couples therapy, as well as narrative therapy and contextual family therapy. For those interested in therapy that incorporates Biblical principles, I point to Biblical themes of marriage as a reflection of our relationship with God and passages that give us strength to love one another well.

Valley Christian Counseling focuses on these areas:

  • Communication
  • Conflict
  • Sex
  • Pre-Marital Counseling

Individual Therapy

I have worked with a variety of clients from various stages of life: adolescents, college students, young adults, mid-life, and older adults. My approach to therapy builds on clients’ understanding of their own thoughts, feelings, and strengths to help facilitate a process of effective healing.

Some therapy models I draw from are emotionally focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. For those interested in incorporating Biblical principles, I help clients better understand how they internalize Biblical stories and passages and process the character of God throughout the Bible.

Valley Christian Counseling focuses on these areas:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Work and life stress
  • Relationship issues
  • Self-worth
  • Past trauma

Family Therapy

Family members tend to have a large impact on who we are and how we view the world. I love helping family members process through difficult situations and relationships together. I believe that family therapy has a unique benefit in changing an entire system you are a part of, in addition to working on individual goals.

I pull from emotionally focused family therapy, contextual family therapy, structural family therapy, and narrative therapy in my work with families. I am specifically trained in facilitating conversations and activities among multiple family members.

Valley Christian Counseling focuses on these areas:

  • Parent-Adolescent Relationships
  • Parenting and co-parenting
  • Multiple family members
